The Airwrap i.d. uses the Coanda effect to wrap hair around the barrel, so you dry, curl, wave, smooth, volumize and hide flyaways with one tool. Heat control keeps temperatures under 302°F, and the conical barrel styles closer to the root. In Plum and Copper, with six attachments and the presentation case.
A fast motor spinning at 110,000 rpm generates enough pressure to create the Coanda effect, which wraps and holds hair around the barrel. The curl is formed by airflow, not by pressing hair between hot surfaces.
Connected to the MyDyson app over Bluetooth, you set up a hair profile and the styler runs the i.d. curl sequence: it wraps, styles, fires a cold shot to set the curl, then drops into Ultra Low Flow mode. The app is optional — the styler works without it.
The multidirectional conical barrel is engineered for enhanced Coanda airflow along its tapered shape, so you can style closer to the root for tighter curls while keeping volume and bounce.

No. The styler works on its own. The app adds the hair profile and the i.d. curl sequence, which wraps, sets the curl with a cold shot and then moves to Ultra Low Flow mode.

Yes. Dyson states that all attachments are fully compatible with previous Airwrap devices, and the i.d. curl sequence timing does not change with the barrel.
It is built for 120V, the standard in the United States. Dyson advises against using it with a voltage adaptor, so plan on using it in North America.
