Gentle, sulfate-free lather

A blend of coconut oil-derived surfactants creates an easy, abundant lather that leaves scalp and hair feeling hydrated. It is free of sulfates, SLS/SLES, phthalates, MIC/MIT and parabens.

Made for medium to coarse hair

Olaplex formulated it for straight, wavy, curly and coily hair with medium to coarse textures, and all porosity levels. It is vegan, color-safe and suitable for chemically treated hair.

How to use

Emulsify in your hands, lather, rinse

Dispense and emulsify the shampoo in your hands, apply it to wet hair, lather thoroughly and rinse well. The formula is highly concentrated, so a little goes a long way. Follow with the Nº.5 conditioner or an Olaplex mask.

  • Average use is about 2.5 ml per wash.
  • Up to 100 washes from 250 ml.
  • Follow with Nº.5 conditioner.
Is it sulfate-free?

Yes. It is free of sulfates, including SLS and SLES, as well as phthalates, MIC/MIT and parabens.

Is it safe for color-treated hair?

Yes. It is color-safe and suitable for chemically treated hair, and it is vegan.

Which hair types is it for?

Straight, wavy, curly and coily hair with medium to coarse textures, and all porosity levels. For fine hair, Olaplex makes a separate volumizing version of Nº.4.

How long does a bottle last?

Olaplex estimates up to 100 applications from the 250 ml bottle, based on an average application of 2.5 ml.
