Red light LED face mask

Three wavelengths of light in one flexible mask

Series 2 pairs 110 red LEDs at 633 nm and 110 near-infrared LEDs at 830 nm with 16 deep near-infrared LEDs at 1072 nm. The flexible liquid silicone shape contours to the face, and a chin strap carries the light down to the jawline.

Three wavelengths, three jobs

CurrentBody says red light at 633 nm supports collagen production for a smoother look to fine lines, near-infrared at 830 nm helps skin look firmer and brighter, and deep near-infrared at 1072 nm targets the areas where signs of aging show most.

A fit that follows the face

Flexible liquid silicone contours to each face, a multiway strap holds it securely, and the chin strap extends coverage to the jawline. Optional eye inserts make it easier to read, scroll or watch TV during a session.

Ten minutes, no heat

Each session takes 10 minutes and the mask does not generate heat. The near-infrared and deep near-infrared LEDs are invisible to the eye in use, so only the red light shows.

How to use it

Clean skin, strap it on, sit back for ten minutes

Wash and dry your skin, attach and adjust the double strap, then switch on from the clip-on controller. After the 10-minute session, take the mask off, wipe it dry and keep it in its storage bag. CurrentBody recommends 3 to 5 sessions a week for 8 weeks.

  • Do a patch test 24 hours before.
  • Wipe the mask dry after each session.
  • Store it in the included bag.
How many LEDs does it have?

236 in total: 110 red LEDs at 633 nm, 110 near-infrared LEDs at 830 nm and 16 deep near-infrared LEDs at 1072 nm. The two near-infrared wavelengths are invisible to the eye when in use.

How often should I use it?

CurrentBody recommends 10-minute sessions 3 to 5 times a week, over 8 weeks. The brand notes there is no evidence that sessions longer than recommended add anything.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

CurrentBody designed the mask for all skin types, including sensitive skin. It recommends a sensitivity test first: run a full session on the inner arm or the back of the hand, then wait 24 hours.

Does it get hot?

No. The mask does not generate heat and should not feel uncomfortable. If your skin feels hot or uncomfortable during a session, stop using it.

Is it FDA-cleared?

Yes. CurrentBody describes the Series 2 LED face mask as FDA-cleared on its US product page.

What comes in the box?

The Series 2 LED face mask, the controller, eye inserts, a USB-C charging cable, a storage bag and the user manual. The serum and hydrogel sheet masks from other bundles are not included.

Can I read or watch TV while wearing it?

Yes. The optional eye inserts are made for reading, scrolling or watching TV during a session, and the controller clips on so the mask is easy to use on the go.

Is there anyone who should not use it?

Yes. CurrentBody lists contraindications that include pregnancy or breastfeeding, light-sensitive conditions, eye conditions such as glaucoma or cataracts, and medication that causes photosensitivity. Read the full list in the manual first.
